Download

You need two: the client for the computer you are at, and the agent for each computer you want to reach.

Windows

For the computer you are at

Windows client

Install it and open RelayKey. Nothing to sign up for.

Download client
  • ARM version
  • No install, just run: portable .exe (ARM)
  • Or use your browser — nothing to install.
  • Signed by SENPRINTS LLC. Windows may still warn on a first run until the signature has built up a reputation: click More info → Run anyway.

For the computer you want to reach

Install it, open RelayKey Agent, then press Install.

Open it and drag RelayKey to Applications.

  • Apple Silicon only (M1 and later). On an Intel Mac, use your browser instead.
  • Homebrew: brew install --cask ptrinh/relaykey/relaykey-client

Mac agent

One command installs it, on Intel and Apple Silicon. Your client gives you a code to pair it with.

There is no Linux app. The browser does everything except forward a port.

Linux agent

One command installs it. Your client gives you a code to pair it with.

Share this device

The same app, the other way round: your paired devices can reach this phone. Off until you switch it on, by hand, on the phone.

  • Android TV works too, and a television suits this better than a phone: it stays where it is, and it is plugged in.
  • Status, a direct encrypted connection, and a route out through its internet. No screen, no files, no commands.
  • A notification says so while it is on, and cannot be dismissed.
  • On a phone, Android stops background apps to save battery — treat it as reachable rather than always reachable.

Nothing to download yet

An iPhone, iPad or Chromebook cannot yet be a machine you reach. An Android device can — see the Android tab.

  • To reach a Windows, Mac or Linux machine, pick it above.

Then pair them

  1. In the client, press Add machine to get a code.

  2. Enter that code on the other computer.

  3. Check the six digits match on both screens, then accept.

Whoever pairs with the agent can do anything to that computer, so only install it on computers you look after, and never share the code. More on this.
